Professional workshops built for the humans doing the work.

GroveWorks workshops combine practical neuroscience, real-life examples, reflection, and usable tools to help people better understand themselves and how they respond under pressure, change, responsibility, and everyday demands.

The goal isn't to give participants another program to implement. The goal is to give them tools they can use themselves.

Through The Grove Workshops

Two Hands on the Wheel

Customized For Your Team

Two Hands on the Wheel

The foundational workshop that introduces the brain-based framework and core tools.

This experience is interactive, practical, and designed for adults first. Educators often identify ways to transfer the learning to students, but the workshop is not another classroom curriculum.

Participants explore how the brain responds to stress, how thoughts influence emotions and actions, how identity affects behavior, and how awareness creates more choice in what happens next.

Beyond the Trail

Customized For Your Team

Two Hands on the Wheel

This is the next step for returning teams who want to deepen their understanding and build consistency.

The workshop revisits foundational tools while introducing new concepts related to capacity, awareness, access, changing conditions, and navigating situations when the path is less predictable.

Participants examine what has changed since their first workshop, what they may be carrying now, and what tools are most useful when familiar strategies are no longer enough.

The core concepts in Through the Grove are not specific to schools.

Stress, change, expectations, communication, identity, and automatic reactions affect people in every workplace.

GroveWorks' workshops can be adapted for corporate, nonprofit, community, and faith-based organizations while keeping the same practical, human-centered approach. Topics and examples are adjusted to fit the realities of the team and organization.

Roots & Shoots FTG Workshops

Big Ideas Made Understandable for Young Minds

Brain-based learning for children.

Roots & Shoots uses the four From The Grove story books to introduce simple concepts that give children (primarily age 4 to 9) language for identity, emotions, self-worth, thoughts, choices, and personal agency in ways that are concrete, age-appropriate, and easy to remember.

Interactive learning activities may include naming our emotions, recognizing automatic negative thoughts, noticing “Yabuts,” identifying possibilities, practicing helpful self-talk, and learning what happens when we repeatedly water and feed certain thoughts.

The language is intentionally simple. The concepts are not.

What the program looks like

Roots & Shoots is typically delivered as a six-week series, with approximately one hour of learning each week. Each session combines one From The Grove story with conversation, activities, movement, reflection, and practical tools children can continue using after the program ends.

The experience is designed to be engaging without becoming another classroom lesson or behavior-management program.

Where Roots & Shoots fits

Roots & Shoots can be offered through elementary schools, after-school programs, community organizations, youth programs, faith communities, and other organizations serving young children.

It can work especially well for organizations looking for developmentally appropriate ways to support children's emotional vocabulary, self-awareness, confidence, and decision-making.

Important distinction

Roots & Shoots is an educational and developmental learning experience.

It is not counseling, therapy, mental health treatment, or a clinical social-emotional intervention.

The program gives children language and tools they can use alongside the support they already receive from the trusted adults in their lives.
